Barunei temple | Best Place for tourist in Bhubaneswar ,Odisha


In Khordha district there are many famous picnic spot of Odisha. Among them Barunei hill is one of the most beautiful place which is nearest to Bhubaneswar. Every day lot of tourist comes here to see Barunei temple and enjoy its beauty.

How to Reach:-
By Road:-
28 km from the Banivihar, Bhubaneswar. The best way to visit Barunei hill is by reserving Taxi.
By Rail:-
Nearest railway station for Barunei is Khordha road. The distance from Khordha road Station to Barunei Hill is about 12 km. From here you can hire taxi or auto rickshaw for Barunei hill.

About Maa Barunei Temple:-

The Barunei Temple is located at about 150 ft high of the Barunei hill. Maa Barunei Temple is dedicated to the Hindu Goddess Barunei and Goddess Karunei. The two Goddess of this temple is made of Black granite stone (Kalamuguni Pathar) and wearing battle dresses. A beautiful stream flows from the hill which is known as Swarna Ganga, which enhances the beauty of this place.

There is a story behind this. In Kanchi Battle God Jagannath and Balabhadra helped King Purusottam for winning the battle. It is believed that the two Goddess Barunei and Karunei killed many English soldiers at that time. After that the English soldiers know about that and planned how to decrease the energy of the Goddess and also did that successfully. After that the King defeated.



Another story is that God Rama Chandra lived here some days at the time of his Unknown living. During that time goddess sita washing their cooking pots on a big stone. Now a day the stone is known as Shree Ram Stone.
