It is a very popular dish of Odisha and is also served to Lord Jagannath of Puri in his Sakala Dhupa.
Malpua are also prepared in Odia homes during Raja sankranti.
Ingredients
250 gm Flour (Maida)
500 ml Milk
500 gm Sugar
2 Bananas
Ghee for fry
4 Cardamoms
1 tsp aniseed
1 tsp Black pepper
Salt to taste
Cooking Directions
- Add milk and flour, mix it well
- Then add banana, fennel, cardamom, black pepper powder and salt as required & mix it well.
- Heat ghee in a pan.
- In another pot add water and sugar boil it for making sugar syrup.
- Now make like chapatti from this mixture. And fry it.
- After frying add Malpua into sugar syrup and keep it for soak.
- Cool it.
- Your Malpua is ready to eat.
