About Nandankanan Zoo

Nandankanan Zoological Park is a 437 hectare zoo and botanical garden in Bhubaneswar, Odisha which is established in 1960.It was opened for Public in 1979 and became the first zoo in India to join World Association of Zoos and Aquarium in 2009.The Nandankanan Zoological Park is also known as Nandankanan National Park where  interesting facility like boating, safaris(white tigers, lions ,bears, herbivores),reptile park, zoo museum ,orchid house, Nocturnal Animal House, Aquarium at the zoological park which is best destination for wildlife lovers .There are lots of wild animal found here like Deer,Leopard,White Tiger,Bengal Tiger,Lion,Elephant,Zebra,Giraffe,Hyena,All reptiles & birds etc.
Nandankanan Zoological Park which is situated in the Chandaka forests, bears the  green zoological park is also a home to various flourishing varieties of flora. The splendid environs of Chandaka forests and rippling waters of Kanjia Lake forms flora here. The area is densely greened with trees like Bija, Sal, Asana and Anala.

How to Reach

It is 10 km from Bhubaneswar city and 12 km from Cuttack city.

By Road:

There are frequent private buses and Govt. city bus services that are also available from any place of Bhubaneswar to this park. You can also hire auto rickshaw, private car to reach this park.

By Rail:

Nearest railway station is Barang junction for local trains only. For all other express train you can prefer Bhubaneswar main and Bhubaneswar New station.

By Air :

Nearest airport is Biju Pattnaik Airport Bhubaneswar.
